Okay, so the Tacoma is out of the shop and I had a chance to wash it yesturday. A few of you wanted to see pictures when I was thinking about selling it and buying an x5, but if you remeber she was in a wreck shortly after the discussion began. How does she look?
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
The last pic is pretty cool, with the other red Toyota in front of you. Taco's are awesome, my only issue with them is that it's a real challenge to get a good subwoofer in them (w/o taking away interior space).
No, it was concealed. I made a console which fit over the small hump, carpeted to match the interior carpet. The sub was mounted under the console (which was raised slightly), firing downward. That way, the bass hits the floor, then radiates outward and up, so it's diffused and not slamming the occupants directly. It was such a tight squeeze that the edge of the speaker frame was less than 1/8" from the outside wall of the box. Still waiting for the guy to take pics, if/when he does, I'll pass them along.
The sub was a Kicker L7 10", and I managed to get it working nicely in .5 cubic ft of volume, with a good amount of polyfill stuffing . . . that increases the effective box volume by up to 15%. As far as time, it took me about 3hrs from start to finish, but that's not typical . . I have access to a fully equipped fabrication shop.
