It depends. I think after the car is 5 years old you can't get a 5 year old loan on it.

^^^I don't know if there is a hard and fast rule, but generally I'd say you won't get more than 36-42mos on a preowned vehicle, unless they know it's in outstanding condition. But then again, a lot of places are so hard up to get sales that they'll take the chance.

60 month finance from credit union at 5.25% on $12,000, after putting down $8000 on a '99 328i with (at the time) 52k mi. And (at the time) it was 5 years old.

You can get a loan for any car you want, as long as you pay for it and it is within reason. If you really wanted to, you could even get a lease, but that would be just stupid.

yeah I talked to my dad about it some more, and he said he would help me out with the repairs, parts costs, and a few exterior mods.
