I guess I can't say that the McLaren F1 is fast either, because I haven't driven one?

I've never driven an E30 M3, but I know its a quick FOUR cylinder.

But, lets see....
1991 318is
Wheel Base: 101.2in
Engine: 1.8L 4 cylinder RWD
Curb Weight: 2460 lbs
HP: 134
Torque: 127ft-lbs
Weight/Power Ratio: 18.35 lbs/hp
0-60mph: 10.0 sec

1997 Camary V6
Wheel Base: 105.2in
Engine: 3.0L V6 FWD
Curb Weight: 3976 lbs!
HP: 194
Torque: 209ft-lbs
Weight/Power Ratio: 20.49 lbs/hp
0-60mph: 7.6sec

Seems to me that the only advantage that the Camary has over the 318is are the torque numbers. That's where the V6's displacement comes through. But nm... i'm babbling now.

Nice find dough. The easiest way to make the 318is go fast is by changing the diff, I have been told that it would make the car a rocket (and probably only for use at the track)

Well, now you got to ask yourself this...how much money are you going to invest in a 15 year old car? A rear diff installed is probrolly equal or nearly equal to the value of the car itself. At some point there is a limiting return. Unless you just don't care about money, then, go for it.

I wont do that on this car (its too nice to turn into a track car) but i might look for another one in about a year when I graduate to make a track car out of.

Yea, I saw that and was thinking wtf? But have you ever checked your car on a flat road from zero to sixty?

yea it was in the 8ths. Not 100 percent accurate cause i did it myself, but u know.
i got a chip...but that would cut off 2 secs? Seems unlikely.

Dont the 318s have a 4.10 diff stock? And a LSD was an option.

^Correct, and yes the 10 second 0-60 seems slow as well. I also have a chip so i cant say how much it improves, I did find out yesterday that i can go more than 130, still had at least 750 revs to go. I really did not expect it to go over 130, it did take some time to get there though.

Well, I got the 10 sec figure from here: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
The only problem is that they don't specify whether it was a manual or automatic.
