usually the insurance crash test are at i think 40MPH and those are horrible, like that one chinese SUV that got a 0 out of 5
what happened is that the frame was built to crumble, but the whole drivetrian/steering was like solid stell, so the frame crumpled but the steering just got pushed back and like squished the hell out of the dummy

I dodnt know guys, most cars are designed to crumple like an accordian, with all the shock from an impact like that absorbed by the body panels. In this casethere is no absorbtion, just a dead stop. But if the air bags can do most of the work thats fine.
