Wifi for family store

hello all.

My dad is opening a coffee shop in a local city here and he wants to have wifi available for all customers. Now if it were me I would jsut order a DSL line, and wire up a wireless router. However, I don't know if this is the best, safest, etc. way to go about this. What do other companies do in this situation and what do you guys recommend?

That may need a T3 for speed depending how many are intended to use it at any one time.

that's what I said, but how much does that usually cost? Would the simple wireless router to a T3 line be the best bet here?

Depending on how many user will be feeding off the wifi, for about 20 to 50 users doing simple web surfing i would say a Very good Cable connection 3-5mbps about $50-$90 a month.

god luck with a t3 you lookin about $800+ a month with that

Contact Verizon Business DSL or whatever service equivalent you guys have out there. I'm sure they'll have packages and systems to meet your needs.

go with cable, DSL sucks in my opinion. too inconsistent. at least thats what we had at home with Verison DSL, it was out for hours at a time. now we have cable and it works beautifully. (sp)

Or depending on how large your store is, it might be more cost-effective to purchase two broadband accounts and two routers, one for each side of the store, and essentially split the store in two zones for speed...
