New Hard Drive

My computer has been acting strange, had my cousin come over (he knows a LOT on computers)

and he told me I needed a new hard drive. I bought this one:

Western Digital Caviar WD1200JB Special Edition 120GB ATA/100 7200RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer

How you guys feel about it, he said it's pretty good... plus MUCH better//bigger///faster than my current one...

It costed me $76 shipped

That's actually a BIT overpriced. You can do better if you look around.

If you have serial ATA capability in your computer, consider getting an SATA drive, rather than an ATA drive. You'll notice a large difference in speed. It's worth it.

newegg.com and directron.com are great stores that I've personally spent thousands and thousands of dollars with, and never had a single problem.

windows is too over run with wintel 95 > wintel xp registry based OS center. That = no security at all, wintel registry is absolutely hack edit open. That is all there is to it

Ignore him. He's babbling about apple being better than windows all the time. hehe

If you don't know if your computer has Serial ATA, it probably doesn't.

Here's a good deal on a standard hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144422

$100 for 250GB (at 7200rpm and 16MB cache, so it's a good quality, fast one)

And here is a 200GB hard drive (also good specs) for $90 shipped:

^^NewEgg rules, I've spent a few thousand with them too. But I'm guessing if Rooz originally had a 30 gigger, then he's not likely to have SATA.

umm Rooz, I hate to tell you, but when I built my computer like 2 years ago, i'm pretty certain that was the hard drive I used, was about 4200 when it first came out I think, and it lasted about 3 months, then western digital, screwed me and I couldn't get a new one within the year warranty.
