I own a 1999 540i w/ 83,000 miles; the check engine light came on, stayed on for a day then went off. 4-5 start ups/shutdowns it hasn't "re-lit"

At 76,000 miles the light went on and stayed on- diagnosis resulted in replacing the MAF sensor.

Do I need to to be concerned? Does this require another trip to the local de3aler?

Your comments are appreciated

A lot of times a loose gas cap will cause an evap emissions failure. You stop fill up, tighten the cap and within a few run cycles it goes away. Is that what happened? maybe. But if the light went out and you're not having any other problems I wouldn't get to concerned until it comes back on........if it ever does. By the way this needs to be moved into the right category, you'll get more, better responses.
