Btw, if any of you are interested, the spammer's ip was 207.248.240.119
(host-207-248-240-119.block.alestra.net.mx).

Here is a scan, assumingly it's some kind of cisco box:
<alpha>root@/# nmap -P0 207.248.240.119

Starting nmap 3.50 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2005-06-03 12:11 EDT
Interesting ports on host-207-248-240-119.block.alestra.net.mx (207.248.240.119):

(The 1649 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed)
PORT STATE SERVICE
21/tcp open ftp
22/tcp open ssh
23/tcp open telnet
80/tcp open http
443/tcp open https
553/tcp open pirp
554/tcp open rtsp
1080/tcp filtered socks
1434/tcp filtered ms-sql-m
3128/tcp filtered squid-http

Nmap run completed -- 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 4.480 seconds
<alpha>root@/#
Hum, he was using a proxy. He also covered his email address up. haha

Edit: It is the alestra proxy service he was using. I banned that ip, and a few others from the same proxy service. The following ips were banned: 207.248.240.119, 148.244.150.58, 148.244.150.57, 148.244.150.52, and 207.248.240.118.

is there a way to give someone a maximum limit of posts per day? like 50 should be the max, and secondly, i used to be a member of this forum(lol long story, USED to be) and, no i wasnt a spammer.. but anyway one time i tried coming back but they had like disabled the proxy, so i guess it would detect your internet settings and ban that IP if you are using a proxy

I'm shocked werkz hasn't cleaned up yet. Their site has been overun by spam for hours now, and there are 4 mods online, but nothing appears to be getting cleaned up. x.x I feel sorry for those members.

When we got spammed this morning, torque called me almost immediately, and I had it cleaned up in like 10 minutes.

They need to just shut the forum off for a while and mop up.

United Bimmer got hit with a spammer or two earlier this morning, and they were promptly dealt with, their posts cleaned up, and their ip(s) banned. (And my cell phone woke me up to deal with it- torque called. i want my sleep back, hehe)

A few hours later, werkz got hit with a similar spam attack, but it's been like 3-4 hours now of werkz overrun, and nothing's been done yet to clean it up.
