i had this with my 528 e39 ,as ive only just bought it ,i was worried that the auto gearbox clutches were wareing out, that would mean a new box ,anyway the proplem for me was a faulty spark plug that had cracked and the charge was earthing out into the block, that gives a vibration when pulling away from a stop ,and running the car up to say 60 ,so the plugs are breaking down id say .

Also look for something wedged in between the exhaust and the undercarriage, worn out trans/engine mounts. Anything that can transmit engine vibration to the body of the car first.
