E46 Key FOB Replacement

I've tried reprogramming my 99 E46 older key FOB many times. The recoding procedure never works with my FOB. I'm looking to purchase a new shell/electronics for my key FOB and swap out my actual key into the new FOB housing. Does anyone know if I can purchase a newer style E46 key FOB to replace my older 99 E46 style key FOB which has the LED light? The recoding procedure does not currently work, so I'm assuming my problem might be a defective FOB. Thanks
