Water + xbox = bad

so, last night I accidentally knocked over about half a glass of water onto my roomates xbox . I don't think it all went directly onto the unit, but in the general vicinity (SP?). Since there was a **caugh** little **caugh** bit of captain mo being consumed so I didn't really do a great job of cleaning up and forgot about it this morning. Well we just went to play Halo and we weren't able to turn it on. The green power light won't come on at all.

Does anyone know if I should I even consider trying to fix this? Does the unit have a fuse that could have blown instead of frying the whole power supply?

Any help would be great. Being a poor college student I want to avoid having to buy a new xbox for him.

Hopefully someone will know something about this

There is very likely a fuse - I'd look near the power supply first. Likely to be an inline type xbox websites may have insight here Maybe this helps

I did some searching around on the net and found a xbox site that gave me info on replacing the fuse. I sure hope it works.

off to radio shack tomorrow or wed. to get a 15A fuse.

just be VERY careful if ur going to open the Xbox, if not u may damage parts of it and it will totally void ur warranty if you open it yourself.

well it didn't really matter if I voided the warrenty since I spilled water on it and it wouldn't even turn on...

I did open it up, looked for a fues, got totally confused, gave up and bought a new xbox. I am at home with more of my tools now so I will try to soder the new fuse on. i think it should work. if so I will sell it on ebay and make some money back
