Few quick questions

Firstly I was in the process of renewing my spark plugs and 2 of the wells were full of oil, new rocker cover gasket? or is it where ive filled the oil and some has drained through the cover into the wells (coincidentally the two closest the oil filler cap)?

Secondly, I have a K&N induction kit fitted and was wondering where the best place is to have the induction hose? It is currently coming from the lower bumper to the filter but on very rainy days (and we have lots of them) i'm concerned that th hose will just fill up with crap from the road as oppose to getting good clean cold air.

And thirdly, I have noticed a drop in power just lately sometimes, at roundabouts mainly, if I go to pull out there is hardly any power at all which makes me look a twit. There have even been occasions where i'm struggling to keep up with a 1.2!!!! abliet a new one but still!

The car in question is a '92 325i, the only engine mod is the K&N.

Thanks in advance

Hi, as far as the oil in spark plug chambers, that definitely sounds like a dried up valve cover gasket! Next the intake, I purchased an AFE short ram intake just for that reason, although it's not considered a true CAI, it works for me.
You'll just have to figure out the best spot for it or maybe Nick318iS can answer this question for you! Lastly the power loss, your doing the right thing by changing the spark plugs, I would also replace the fuel filter!

Place the two inner gaskets on the spark plugs holes in center of the head (Figure 23). These are the gaskets that leak oil into the spark plug holes (see the Pelican Parts Technical Article on Replacing Your Spark Plugs).

I agree with Johnny, Valve cover gasket, new plugs (copper single tips are best in your car), short ram intake is fine with a heatshield to block off the radiator and loss of power should be helped with your tune up. Fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug boots, check coil packs, clean your Idle control valve, clean your mass air flow sensor, change your oil and look for any vaccuum leaks that could be a result of the installation of your CAI.

You may be able to buy one for cheap, but there is a reason people say these are expensive cars. Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers

Never heard of the brand and dont know much about Euro spec, but I would say as long as they are single tip plugs you should be fine. I think the oil in the plug case is whats killing your performance and you may need to get new plugs.
