Angry Wisconsin winter vs. 325is

winter: 3
325is: 0
random guy with truck: 10

WTF Wisconsin weather. Only Dec 1st and we get like 5in of snow with an ice storm right after. Wow. My A/S tires did shit against that. Got plowed in with a foot and a half of snow surrounding my car at work. Got stuck and some guy with a 4x4 truck pulled me out with a tow rope from the I-hook on the rear bumper. One nice thing about Wisconsin is how nice people are. I got stuck two more times on the way home, which is usually only a ten minute drive. Time to get some chains!

I love the Appalachian mountain range. They take the brunt of the central US weather, break it up and tone it down before it gets to the tri-state area. We barely got 2", and then it turned to rain. From time to time we do get hit something nasty tho.

I would recomend a real snow tire for starters, all seasons comprimise snow ability and you have a RWD performance car in a snowy area you need the right tires. And maybe some chains if snow tires don't do it.

i just had to drive through un-plowed roads, probably just around 5 inches as well, its just that the snow came down after 5PM so all the truck drivers had already went home, either way it was a hell of a drive home. actually, i fyou are gonna get snows, get studded-snows, i hear you can go anywhere w/em

Got stuck again in my own damn driveway.

We got another 4in a few days ago and we're getting 5 more at the moment with on and off below-zero temps, so basically hard, icy snow underneath light, powdery snow. Yay.

I live in Slinger, it's 1/2 hour north of Milwaukee (the middle of f@%$^&# nowhere). The only snow plows we have are the county ones that only do major roads. Snow tires help but it still sucks, especially with subzero temps.

Yeah, I checked my treads on rear tires. Terrible.

Definitely need some snow tires ASAP. Chains are apparently illegal on roads so I can't use those. I'll look into the studded tires, but that might be illegal as well. Anyone else getting owned by unreasonable amounts of snow/bald tires?

4 to 5in at a time is really not that unreasonable...Im doing fine here in IL and were getting snow almost every 2 days. Invest yourself in a good set of snow tires and you will be fine. Wheel/tire packages on tirerack are very reasonable...
