No confirmed damage to the bottom end. I was convinced that a whole engine would be better suited, we plan on keeping the car. I did get the convertible top removed today, and only have to separate the trans from the engine left. I will pull the engine tomorrow night.

What convinced you to replace the engine? The M50/52 block is capable of handling 14psi turbo setups. It's defenitley capable of surviving a blown headgasket. Sounds like that would have been the better option rather then having to pull the engine a second time.

At this point, I could not agree more. But I dropped the top off at the upholstery shop today, pulled the engine tonight. I'm going to go ahead and get some parts painted, we will see how it turns out.
