And Rooz, get one!!! It's amazing!
I have my classes set up for next weekend (Start Friday, ends Sunday) after that, all I have to do is go to the DMV and take the written test and that's it

The class substitutes the ridding portion of the DMV test

nice bike, Amanda!
I was thinking about buying a GS 500 soon, too, but I changed my mind a couple weeks ago and will now buy a Honda CB 500. Got 17 Horses more, better handeling, better steering, better quality, better mpg, and costs about the same

Thanks Paul!

On a sadder note, the guy who is teaching me to ride just crashed his bike trying to do a wheelie-ride-thing. Yeah, dumb. He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Needless to say, his hands/wrist and legs are beat to shit with road rash. Looking at his hands make me never want to ride without protective gear. I know we all say that we won't, but on a short trip it's easy not to take precautions. I just got my jacket and helmet today and I will NEVER ride without them. For everyone that does have a motorcycle, PLEASE be careful and don't be a dumbass, don't try and do "stunts", don't show off to your friends. It's seriously not worth it. He wasn't injured badly, but it's definitely enough to make you cringe by looking at it. His bike is worse, he cracked to valve cover and tore apart some body panels.

But in all seriousness, please be careful if you have a bike. Going fast is not worth your life.

^^^ damn.

and yeah, mullet I'll never speak to you on this forum again if you ride with out protective gear (But your smart enough not to make that mistake )
Good riders sometimes get cocky, and think it won't happen to them, and then it does at the worst time.

^^^ That's what happened to my friend. He a very good rider, good enough that I trust him in teaching me how to ride. But like he said yesterday, "I was being a dumbass. I've never had a problem when I've been riding smart."

For me, there are sometimes that I get somewhat comfortable on the bike and then the thought will creep back into my head like "If one thing goes wrong, I could be in the hospital." That's kind of scary. However, riding is so amazing I can't stay away!

Funny pic

I have a friend who was riding a GSXR, got cut off, and he slid under a tractor trailer in the opposite lane, but not before catching his head on the bottom of the trailer. The truck had just skidded to a stop when he then slammed into the trailer's wheels. Was in the hospital for 3mos, he was really lucky to have no permanent damage.
