new member with a little bit different hobby

well I'm new here and to bmw's in general. I just got a 96 328is as a daily driver. I traded my bagged blazer that I built for it, and am now focusing on finishing building my 99 isuzu hombre as a full show truck/weekend toy.

heres the car:

the truck I traded for the bmw:

and here's my other truck:

my truck doin what it does best:

what you guys think? I know it's probably a little different than you guys are used to seeing here, but that's what makes it interesting. the plans for the bmw are simple. 20's, projectors, clear markers, and a new headunit. but first I gotta get it running. the dude I got it from said it just needed a water pump. WRONG. turns out he actually cooked it and it has no compression across all cylinders. so during the head work, I may throw in some performance cams (if I can find some at a decent price) and maybe some other bolt on performance goodies. any comments/suggestions welcome. also where are good places to look for performance parts? and projector lights and stuff? I see some common names around here but never see where people actually get the stuff from

thanks guys. the isuzu and blazer are both on air suspension. the isuzu also has a ps2 and a 7" lcd screen fiberglassed into the dash, cavalier seats, smoothed and painted glovebox and doorpanels, and hornblasters.com chrome train horns. in the works is a fiberglass console to hold the head unit, 6.5" tvs in the visors, and finish the audio setup. the bmw will just be for cruising and going fast when I feel the need to because the hombre is slow as hell. thanks for the welcome guys and I am sure I'll be asking alot of dumb questions because I have never messed with a car like this before, and I've already found alot of things that are done differently than I've seen

everything in your BMW is backwards...in a couple of months it will all seem like the right way. Heh..atleast almost everything

Nice trucks man. Living in California i see alot of air suspension/hydralic suspension cars..a little different but trucks dropped that low are pretty nice IMO.

looks like u might need some body work on the truck?

+1 on the no 20"s

I had an isuzu pickup as a project about a year ago. Was pretty fun, I had a 4 x 4 though, wasn't going to make it the mini truck style.

thanks. yeah it definately get alot of attention. I was in panama city for spring break car show, and it got a ton of attention. I was happy with it. and the rear is a little tore up fromt he previous owner clipping up reflectors with the bumper. I welded mounts to put 2 trailer balls upside down underneath the back so I can drag it without actually tearing anything up. I'm going to be putting a rollpan on it soon anyways and getting rid of that bumper. and as for the not putting 20's on, I'm still debating it. cuz 19's look huge on these things, so I may not go that big. I want something that looks proportional no matter how "bling" it may be. I do stuff to my tastes, not to what's popular. and if I do go to an aftermarket rim, it will not be chrome, it's will be black with a polished lip and some nice offset to give it some depth. my clears came in for it today and i put them on, and they do look a little too brithgt for it since there is no other chrome or anything on the car. I still have half a can of spray tint from my taillights on the blazer so I may hit these corner lights with a couple of light coats. dont worry, I know you guys are looking at my trucks and thinking "oh god he's going to make it like that!?". No, my tastes in vehicle vary on what it is. this I want to keep classy and high end looking. my trucks, my main focus is just getting low and being eye catching. the car will just be all about comfort and style

I think that 18"s look perfect on e36's!

Maybe not as good for performance driving, but as far as looks I chose to get 18"s over 17"s.
