Nope...not even close, grand total came to $991.80.

Thankfully comprehensive will cover the bulk of it.

have you shopped around yet? A coworkers vette had almost the same thing happened.. got quoted anywhere from 800-1200$ found a good honest bodyshop in a smaller town did it for 540$... look wide.. the damage does not look like 1000$ at all. specially with the location of the damage.. i wouldnt get insurance involved, but that is just me.

Sorry, hit and runs suck

I'm only paying $200 out of pocket...better that than eating the whole amount (no matter how much less it comes in) without the insurance.

This is my first claim in 20 years...I figure they owe me.

Can you explain the insurance part of this to me? I thought if something was covered by comprehensive then you had no deductible?

sorry to see that you've been damaged. It happened to me one night with my old car, $2600 worth of damage. Pissed me off to no end. Now I have a security camera on my car when I'm at home.

I think comprehensive is covering things like this where you don't know who did the damage (or you did it yourself) and they can't track someone else down for the money.

I'm sure you can get comprehensive without a deductible...but it probably costs a bit more.

Ah, ok, I was just asking because when I hit a deer, it was covered under comprehensive and there was no deductible. It makes sense that you could also get it with a deductible though.

Maybe there's even criteria for when you don't have to pay a deductible (like your incident).

Dunno...just glad I don't have to pay the lion-share of the $$

Thats so suckie!
Right on a hard line too!!

Glad you could get if fixed!
I got hit in my driverside here at work with no note - that was a big ass indent in the middle of my door though!

But I still have a door ding on my pas. side from the mall Christmas '04 - right exactly 90 degrees of the bodyline AND chipped the paint.
oh its a good thing its on passanger side! Can't afford to fix it and don't have to look at it every day
