I/E MAC users be warned

For all of us MAC users we're taking it up the ass once again from our friends at Microsoft. Those of us using Microsofts' Internet Explorer - Microsoft is cutting all ties Jan, 1,2006 - no support, no nothing! And they're doing it in true Microsoft style - quietly. They're not notifying any users - it's Y2K ala Bill Gates {prick} just pulling the plug.

I hope Gates catches AIDs while he's off on one of his adventures in Africa. And Bird Flu - he deserves both!

IE is a POS anyway. No one should use it on any OS, IMO. The registry interface allows far to much central permission in Windows, and defeats any web site specific advantages in Mac OS X.

I use it because some clients have I/E specific pieces. (remember I deal with musicians - talent and brains aren't always equal)

I just don't like the way Gates & Co conducts business. That's like BMW not keeping parts or working on E30s.

Good riddence, But just cause they cut all ties doesn't mean it just stops working, use firefox or safari for everyday browsing and ie for those specific pieces and only from sites you trust.

That's what I've been doing. But sometimes these guys (w/ I/E) have "lock-ups" and panic and everything needs reloading - so I notified almost all of them to get back ups for everything. I hope they don't procrastinate because then "I'm the bad guy" when it can't be reloaded or something is lost. I have to be diplomatic about it because these guys are clients.

yeah I try not to advise "clients" about anything, because if anything else goes wrong they start to blame you. I had a woman call me up because she had a norton antivirus trojan alert and started freaking out and cancelled her credit cards when it turned out that her son was on some naughty sites and norton had caught it before it could do any harm. And the only thing I did for her was help her with a website problem she had with her company.

In my case it's the "nature of the beast". I deal w/musicians (high end muzos) and since I work wit/for them the rest comes w/the territory. In my biz, the term "Once a favor, twice it's a gig" applies
