Post 1994 525i Mystery Fan Will Not Shut OFF!!! HELP!

I have a 1994 525i that was running great! This Saturday a fan that seems to be under the fuse box in the engine bay will not shut off. It almost drained my battery before I just disconnected the cable. ( pain in the ass since the battery in under the rear seat!).

It runs whether the car is on or not! ( note it is not the auxiliary fan I pulled those fuses and it still came on)

I have researched this but the data is mixed, my Ac and Heat work just fine, we have 100 degree days here and the AC is doing it s job, so does anyone have any ideal how to turn this bugger off?

Currently I have to disconnect the battery cables to keep the fan from killing my battery. Is there a fuse I can pull, the fan is strong, so strong you can feel the vibration all over the car when it is running.

Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

i think it's the fan that cools the computer box and keeps it from overheating, i think something is shorted with the wires that's the reason why it's always on, better have it checked by an expert electrician so that it will not drain your battery all the time.

Thanks, just like it turned its self on, it just stopped. I think the extreme heat we had this summer, may have played a role. Once the temperature dropped it shut off.

Might be a bad relay. Most of the fans are relayed (they draw a fair bit) on our cars. Might be worth checking that out.
