Faded steering wheel

Yo...I need your help.

I just purchased my first BMW...a 1999 328i. What an amazing ride!!

Anyway, the interior is in very good shape except for the leather wrapped steering wheel. It's black leather, but faded from use and/or sun exposure in some parts.

Is there anyway (short of buying a new steering wheel) to bring the full black colour back? I was thinking if using some leather conditioner, but any other help would be great.

I have the same problem, my steering wheel is worn at the top. I have also wondered if there was a way to replace it without having to replace the entire steering wheel. Is there a way I could just cut the leather off and replace it? I don't want to get a steering wheel cover because those are straight ugly. Anyone ever fixed this problem before?

Why not find a company that specializes in restoring leather products ?

I found a place that gave me a good price on my leather seats and I've seen their work and it looks very good.
