Question Will snow tires fit?

My uncle owns an e46 M3 (GOD I love that car of his), and he's got some snow tires with M3 wheels that he'll give to me for free if they fit my e36 325 (has a truck he drives in winter). I found out the tires will fit, but my question is; are the bolt patterns the same? That'd be freakin sweet if they did!

I believe they are 225/45R18 (stock), mine are currently 235/45R17. So it should work, in theory at least.

no, it depends on the offset
and that is different on the M compared to the stock e46
so I've read. That means they might not fit or will only fit with some sort of adapter discs

edit: I'm not so sure, though, so you might want to find it out on the web

Well, he isn't gonna use them, so no harm in trying, right?
