Check Control

Hey Gang,

Loking for some help with the latest problem.

When i start my car, my seat belt light comes on in the Check Control display, then "Check Control" is displayed without any other information. Am i missing something? Shouldn't there be a fault displayed after "Check Control" to kinda lead you to what the problem may be?

My question then is, What is causing this and How can I fix it?

I have search and having seen anything that specific.

Thanks

when the "check control" comes up - there's a fault code that needs to be read. To read the codes - turn ignition to "on" and fully depressing accelerator pedal to the floor 5 times within 5 secs. The check engine light come on for 5 secs then start flashing the fault codes.

You again... 8-)

Did that and came up with the code:

1444

Which I looked up and which indicates, "No More Faults".

Could I be missing something?

Oh and again Thank You for such quick responses...

I don't know about the E34, but Check Control in the E36 has nothing to do with the CEL/fault codes Usually it will say "CHECK CONTROL OK". If otherwise, I think it must mean a malfunction with the unit or a sensor attached to it. Sorry, that's all I have

I have had the same problem with my car when something is left on or a door is not fully closed which leads to a dead battery in the morning. The ecm could possibly be reading a current draw, but I am still learning.
