I've had an AMD 2500+ (Barton core) overclocked for over 2yrs now, and it's still stable as a rock . . the BIOS thinks it's a 2800+, and that speed increase is conservative for this chip

The fans AMD's ship with SUCK tho. I buy the OEM's w/o the fan & heatsink.

this is true, they will go out after about a year or so , but if u need advice dont get a real huge copper one unless it says quite. Unlike me ia couple years back i gota Thermaltake Volcano 7+ (edit: overclockers.com got upset at hotlink ) itll keep you cool but is pretty loud.

I have an AMD 3200xp, or it might be 3000 I forget I built the computer 3 years ago or so. It is very reliable, haven't had any problems with my heatsink or anything, I dont overclock my computer though. It is great for gaming!
