Program Wash Cycle Fail

Hi all! I'm new to the forums here and hope this is the correct post location. I searched on the topic before posting and found nothing, so here goes.

I inadvertently ran my windshield washer fluid resevoir dry and that caused a failure of the headlamp washer pump. I replaced the washer pump (which works) but now the programmed wash cycle that's activated by pushing the button at the end of the wiper stem is not working (jets don't spray and wipers don't move). The normal wash (pulling the stem towards you) works OK.

Is there something about replacing the headlight washer pump that would cause the wash program to fail? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Something in me says this is a computer problem but wanted to check here first. I'm a DIY'er and hate the thought of going to the dealer to fix this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
