I'm in the process of puting a turbo on my 325i M50. I would re-build the engine with stock internals for up to 400 HP at the crank. The internals on this engine are exceptionally strong and need no upgrading. To turbo an engine, you must lower the compression to 8.9 lbs. or lower (our engines are slightly above 10 lbs). You can do this with either a thicker head gasket or lower compression pistons. If I was rebuilding the bottom end, I would problobly go with lower compressoin pistons but that will run you $1,300 or more. Your best bet is a kit, or at very least use a tuner to help you put the system together. Talk to Mike McCoy at TRM, his web site is: www.racersmarket.net.

Good luck.
