Ain't got a job (part 2)
Bout two and a half months ago, my previous company retrenched a whole bunch of us. Yadda yada yada
After three whole weeks of voodoo, guess i had to find some other stuff to do. After sending in more than 20 resumes to potential employers, i finally landed a job interview. Would be starting by jan 07 if all goes well. the job pays much better.
So wat do i do with the extra cash?
Can u say upgrades?
anyway, when i was out of a job the bank called and restructed my remaining loan on my car. since they knew my cashflow was 'interuppted'. So generally speaking, my monthly installments have actually decreased but the repayment period has increased. sorry guys, i can't mention the details here.
I did the math over my lunchbreak and figured that i could still keep the beemer and still afford to pick up another car around worth bout 35K.
Would you guys think it would be better for me to pick up a brand new car and 4get this beemer? I haven't taken a look at the local agents here but i didn't have it in mind to get another car since i'm very happy with this one.
So far will be taking her out to get the oil changed and get her a brand new set of tires by jun 07. Meantime she's purring like a cat...

Well I think you may be better off keeping your car and waiting for more money after the new job starts

Yeah, I agree. When you physically have the cash in your bank account, then you should start talking.
But, yeah, IMO, newer is better. I mean, you don't have to go ALL the way new. Maybe like an 2003/2004 new. It would probably still be under waranty or at least have a little bit left.

Yeah, keep the car now. Get settled into your new job, and when everything is fine and dandy and you have enough cash saved up to be comfortable take save some extra and buy a car.

yeah... i mean you only have a 2.0 i have .2L less that you in my m42 and i'll still stomp your heavy ass. sell the bimmer buy a e30 until you land the J.O.B and then get a newer bimmer.
my guess though is that you will fall in love with the e30 and never get another car. IMO,

Yeah.
Went to the big 3 jap dealers here (toyota, honda, nissan). It was my first time to walk into 'their' showroom. I figured that most of their sedans were mostly for the family-oriented-type-of-customer. but i was looking to see if there was nothing to steal my heart away from my current beemer.
It'll be the renault, volkswagen and then the audi dealers and lastly (gasp!) the merc dealer on my way home from work 2morrow. I'm skipping all the korean makes and china knockoffs that are just beginning to set up shop here.
Not serious enough to start talking terms with the sales people at any of these showrooms, but i was just checking the market. Haven't seen the market for the pre-owned second hand cars here.
I know i'm better off keeping my current beemer and saving up for another new car when the time is right.
thanks guys and gals. hopefully my next thread will sound less pitiful. btw, the car does feel heavy since its close to getting her oil changed. Besides that, she should be back to her old snappy self after the regular oil change and some maintennance. My birthday is coming up so i'm taking my car out for the usual maintennance and getting her polished up for a cruise. Plus there's a couple of new speakers for me as well...
till we met again
