Poll: Where do you park?
In light of my recent keying issue, I was wondering where and how most of you guys park?
Normal - Parking in the closest available slot with everyone else. Sure you might get hit by a door, but this sends the message that hey i'm just like everyone else here. However this is the parking method that resulted in me getting keyed.
That Dude - You are the guy who parks way out at the end of the parking lot AND taking up at least 2 spots just to be safe. Upside: People have to go out of their way to fuck with your car. Downside: Does this make you a target for car vandals becaues they can tell it will really piss you off?
The Compromise - Park pretty far back, but with other cars still around, and still within just 1 spot. In trying to do both, do you really end up doing neither?

i used to park far away, i do that less now.
i look for larger parks; some parking spaces are narrow, and some are really wide. i also park near curbs because i can get really close to it and leave a huge space to the line on the other side.
i also refrain from parking near coupes (longer doors) and trucks, suv's, or anyone that doesnt look like they know how to park, or are parked crooked, etc.
also helps to park near other cars that seem to be taken care of, they are going to be less likely to let their door hit ure car since they will be worried about their own car.

I park far, usually in shade. It helps that some places like Publix food stores here have the parking at about a 45 degree angle so there is no way to have the car next to you hit yours with their door. Sometimes I just park normal there

I park farther away from the crowd. Why? Because the ones who park closer to the building are usually the ones in a hurry, and don't care. I also park next to a median or island in the lot, that way I can get as close to it as possible, allowing plenty of space on the other side where another might park next to me. If all else fails, I look to park next to a Merc or another Bimmer.

I do the compromise thing.
I also park next to other bmw's. Once at Target, there was this pack of 5 of us, it looked pretty cool.

Sort-of compromise.... I usually park in the VERY back away from everyone, but I never do anything like take up multiple spaces... I'm just simply a bit seperated from the pack.

in terms of if im going to a store, where ever i can find a resonably good spot. maybe near nice newer car. never near old trucks or somethign that looks like a kids car. at school i park in the lot, right under a streetlight, where the lines were corrected to the spot is a bit big so i dont have to worry so much

Usally near a boulevard or edge of a parking lot, never beside another car. People noadays don't give a rats ass if they door another car. Sad but true

I try to even out the space between vehicles depending on the size of their door swing. I'll try to take an end spot if possible, but rule of thumb......stay away from the minivans and GM two doors( doors are crazy big and heavy..........swing that bitch open, lol).

Right under a streetlight??? You must have bird shit all over your car
I do the compromise. I try to park next to the island or median so only one car can park next to me and I leave as much space as possible.

depends where i am and what time.
If its arond noon i park away from everyone. Dam old people..cant park worth shit. If im at school, or around kids i back my car in. That way its a little less likely to get hit.
Otherwise its just regular parking
