why do i have to pay?
for those that dont know, my E30 was recently totaled because some people cant pay attentin and do not have situational awareness.
I was awarded $4k for my 91 E30 which is pretty good based on the book value, but fuck, book value does not measure everything. i loved my bimmer. . .
i took exceptional care of my bimmer, well, i did as much as i could on my budget. she looked good, sounded good, performed like a champ everytime i asked her too, and now she is totaled, hopefully to go to another bimmerhead who will restore her, but probably to a junk yard for parts or something similar.
yesterday i had to strip her of anything i wanted, and i did it, but damn was it hard. and i left her there at the body shop, never to see her again, never to hear that engine purr at 5k + rpm. . .
and i have to ask myself why? i recently started college and drove a nice, classic bimmer to school everyday, while some had to drive their "college car", some pos that they did not care about, and now i am going to be in that boat.
all because some dumbass cant pay attention, i have to drive probably a miserable pos that i hate, when i already had something that i loved, but someone else took it away from me? what the fuck is that? why do i have to pay the next few years for someone elses mistake?
$4k wont smooth it over, and im not sure if any monetary amount would.
fucking bullshit. . .

I'm sorry for your loss, but, even though this may sound a little cold hearted, why can't you just get another one? $4000 should be enough for an E30, I've seen E36's for that price too.

trust me, i have been looking, and the E30's that people have for sale are very poorly maintained. plus i kinda want to stay away from the heavy steel bumpers
i also kinda need to play it safe, maintenance wise, dont have a lot of money past the 4k. . .
one day, i'll ride a 30 again! thanks!

Well, I tried looking on Autotrader for your area, nearest 325is was about 125miles away, and all of them had around 200k mi. But, just a little checking on Ebay (i know i know... but just an idea) yeilded these few beauties:
Ebay: California, 1990 325is Manual, 160k mi. reserved price, but currently at $1,525.
Ebay: New Jersey (cool! ), 1989 325is Manual, 61,257mi Current price at $3,850, with less than 21hrs left.
Ebay: New York, 1991 318is Manual, 87kmi tough price with reserve. Current at $5,100.
Ebay: Florida, 1986 325is Manual, 71k mi Reserve set, current at $2000.

I can personally attest to how much he loved that particular car. It was everything he wanted when he first got it, and it still is. I always loved BMW's, but if it weren't for his enthusiasm for his 325i, I probably wouldn't be driving a BMW right now, and I sure wouldn't have ever joined any of the BMW forums I belong to . . RIP man, here's to good times:

thats a shame, didnt you just need a new oil pan as far as maintenance goes, and then your car would have been in perfect running condition?

It's always sad to see a Bimmer die. Hopefully, you'll get another one soon.

Yea it sucks and I know the connection with the car if anything ever happens to mine I will be absolutly heartbroken. As far as the crank sunroof, its not too bad, I am good enough that I can get the thing open pretty damn quick.
Good luck on your hunt.

MY old roomate had a 325 with the crank sunrrof. Not bad at all. Actually, it was pretty cool to me the first time I saw it. It adds to the "classic"-ness of teh car.

Good luck
