Untapped Stupid - United Bimmer Community

It occurred to me yesterday that I make my living from stupid. Stupid has always been good to me. Stupid keeps me employed and is paying for a comfortable lifestyle. However there is a dark side to stupid. Stupid wastes my time and resources. For example I hate to go to court today. My son missed 4 days of school. He wasn't stupid because he was sick. I sent in a doctor's note for two of those days and I wrote a note for the other two days. I'm not stupid. I recieved a summons because the systems generates a notice automatically even though the school district policy is 5 days. That means there is some unknown stupid. I spoke with the social worker who is in charge of the anti-truancy enforcement. I told her I sent notes and doctor's excuses for these days. We still had to go to court. I talked with the teacher and she produced the doctor's excuse that she failed to enter into the computer. I think I found some stupid. After talking with the social worker I explained that we found the doctor's note, she told me that the judge isn't going to do anything and it's not a big deal. Then why the hell am I going?

As it turns out the judge saw through all the stupid saw that I wasn't encouraging truancy and there is no attempt to skip school without reason and dismissed the case, I still can't get my 3 hours back. And my son missed a half a day of school for this.

And if it's not the school it's vendors. We placed a 12k order for some computer equipment. We have an account with the vendor and were going to place the order on net 30 terms which means we got 30 days to pay. They put us on net 60 and sent us a loan application. We had requested overnight shipping for part of the order because we needed it now (due to customer stupid) we called and got the run around for a couple hours about how we just wanted to use a credit card. We finally spoke with someone who wasn't stupid and they were able to help go from net 60 to credit card. But the part of the order that was overnight still didn't go out. It was in preprocessing and wouldn't go out for a few more days.

Now back to customer stupid. I personally like this kind of stupid because we get to bill for it. Customers can be as stupid as they want. There are buying my time so they can waste as much of it as they like. I still havn't figured out why all customers think that they can delay the approval until after the deadline and still expect us to hit our initial deadline. If I tell you I need approval by friday to make a wednesday date and you give me approval on tuesday you can not expect me to be done by wednesday. I am still as of this moment unable to travel backwards in time.

I need to find a way to directly tap into all that excess stupid and make use of it. I used to think stupid was merely a lack of intellegence. I was wrong. Stupid is more like evil. Evil is not the lack of good but the opposite. Evil is more than nothing, what exactly I can't say, and stupid, I have come to believe, is similar. Ideally it would be some sort of stupid motor which I could use to turn an electrical generator. Or perhaps a stupid reactor which could generate steam to power turbines. I'll even except a stupid engine which can generate mechanical poser directly from stupid. If any of you have any ideas about how I could harness pure stupid please let me know.

Yea i hear you, maybe we can just put all the stupid people out on some island with nothing there and if any get back into civilization i guess they earned it.

I can see it now flights leaving on the hour to stupid island, might need more flights though at 1st.

Kudos on the post. You could write a book about "Stupid" problem is it wouldn't be a best seller because Stupid people wouldn't understand it.

nice clip, my wife is into that show so it's not too far off base. (the show really sucks please do not watch it for any reason)

I think writing a book would be bad because I would be forced to thin the herd somewhere in the middle.

LOL, a funnier outlook to dealing w/stupidity (provided it's not obstructing something your doing) just smile and give the "dummy" thumbs up

"yeah buddy better you than me". It's all about how you approach it, if you let it bother you, then you become miserable. If you can laugh at it - it's a bonus in your day. (we can't always avoid getting annoyed but it's a blast trying)
