The Mk5 GTI walks the 130i. The 1-series is probably the most ill-concived hatchback idea ever.
I'd own anything Mk1 or Mk2. I'm buying a Mk5 GTI when I'm out of school.

I see the E87 1 series as a 3 replacement for those of us that like the E30 size. It's amazing how many time my car was the only one small enough to squeeze into left turn lanes when the straight lane is stopped at a light
