Anybody can get a gun, its a matter of who chooses to use it responsibly. Guns aren't the problem. Its people that pull trigger. Based on your theory we should move somewhere where people aren't accepted.

Shooting school kids here in America is not accepted, but it happens. Did the guy who shot up the school in IL have a carrying permit? i doubt it. People who are about to commit suicide usually don't worry about any laws that might restrict their actions.

You have just proved my point, that you can justify carrying a weapon.

I don't need to. You can't legislate against lunatics. Someone who wants to kill and doesn't care about the consequences will always find a way. Even here in NZ, where we had our first plane hijacking last week.

Still no reason to carry a weapon in my opinion. Shit happens, live with it.

Why would I choose to let a whack job be in control of the circumstances of my life if I have the right and means to stop him with a firearm? I will not live with it, I will die trying to stop it. Maybe I have been in the military too long but when everyone else is running from the danger, I will be the one holding my ground. It is unfortunate that this guy did this in the school, it is unfortunate that the only option those students had were to run for their life.

Best news story of the year in the states is the volunteer female security guard at New Life Church in Colorado that stood her ground when everyone else had no option but to run and put holes in a nutso that shot up two churches in two days.

if guns were banned, there wouldn't be firearms involved in road rage
back in Detroit when I did drivers ed our instructor told us of a girl he knew who couldn't do sideway parking. So one day she was downtown and had to do parallel parking, and she was terribly slow, so a long line of cars were waiting behind her. Then a guy with a pickup truck pulled up to her and shot her through the windshield
I dunno if she survived
but here in Germany, there are REALLY few crimes involved with firearms, compared to the US

Also you could just go into a parking garage no goes into parking garages and starts stealing cars. If have a car that is prone to getting stolen and you park on the street then you are just retarted.

Prohibition is not a solution. It didnt work with drugs, alchohol, it didnt work with internet porn. If you have a lower crime rate where you live then you may have less of a need to arm yourself, however, it does not mean that criminals in your country or state are not armed. I am not out looking for trouble but as a previous poster stated. Shit happens, you can live with the circumstances or be in a position to define your own circumstances.

fact is, here in the US, banning guns would do nothing. There are already enough guns in the US in existence for every man, woman, and child to have one and there would be guns left. Banning gun production, for example, would do nothing but cause the black market to thrive.

And going door to door to take away guns would be chaos, and could lead to civil war.

And the government can maybe only take away legally registered guns, they have no way of finding out who has unregistered guns, and there are alot of unregistered guns.

Why would take away llegally registeres guns, if you can register a gun that means that you are not crazy and you won't do anything like shoot up a school. I don't think the government can do anything about guns. All of those illegal guns are doing good, because most of the people that have them are gangsters, drug dealers and they are killing other gangsters and drug dealers, so the crime rate will go down soon. But you can't take murder away totally. people will find other ways to kill each other. That dude that shot up the school,the kids at columbine, and the dude at virgina tech, were crazy were not treated by the schools and colleges. I was watch the news and they said that the guy from virginia tech went to the guidance department to work out his problems, but they turned him away because they were busy, so he got pushed to the limit and went crazy and decided to shoot up the school. All of the school shootings were caused by helping the people with the problems. We shouldn't ban guns. We should just listen to peoples problems when they are sharing them, that's it. If that happened then none of this bullshit would ever happen.

2. those gangsters that are armed and killing each other aren't only shooting each other, they are shooting unarmed people too: i.e. people that they are robbing, people that owe them money. Same line of logic: The Muslim extremist population will die out soon because they keep killing themselves with suicide bombs, therefore, we will wait until all terrorists are dead.

3. Not getting help does not justify killing 30 innocent people.

my wife just went back to college and she is going to class twice a week. But the other 5 days she is doing homework. Plus her english professor gives homework on the internet so my wife has to check her college email constantly to see if there are any assignments..now thats crazy!!!
