M3/m3 Csl

Does anyone know the exact diffrences between a e46 BMW M3 CSL and a regular e46 M3? I know the CSL is lighter I think? :dunno

cf roof, different front bumper, cf front splitters, plastic different boot lid, cardboard trunk liner. no radio, no air conditioning, race seats. CSL wheels, different suspension, engine makes about 360 hp as opposed to 333.

^^^^ I think they have a different set of cams, or the cams are ground differently.

and i think they played with the compression a bit too. but i'm not sure.

only available in SMG I believe. I thought a manual tranny would be lighter though?

who knows, but they obviously did it for a good reason, probably the reason that the SMG shifts much quicker than any human could ever shift

^^^ Yup :)

The CSL weigths 150kg. less then the M3. BMW also put cup tires on the CSL to. U have to sign a waver that lets u know that the tires will not work in the cold and rain. BMW also use lightwieght glass too. Bigger brakes. I think BMW also tuned the ECU differently too.

BMW also came out with the M3 GTR with a 4.0L V8 so they could go racing. The M3 GTR race car got banned from racing in the US.
