having trouble....
ok so im having some trouble getting the vids to play when i upload them to the computer. when i upload them to the computer and try to play the vid.... it says "windnows media plaer cannot play this file because the player does not support this codec." what does this mean?

That means you don't have the right codec installed to watch it, haha. (codecs are basically like drivers for videos. they tell windows how to play the video, so without them it wont work)

Go there and download/install that. There's a good chance that'll work, if it doesn't link us to the video and we'll point you in the right direction to get that codec.

keep in mind that i have a mac.

there are codecs for the mac and they do the same thing as the windows codecs, they tell the computer how to play the video.

COde DECode or COmpress DECompress (whichever?!?!)- they do exactly that, code and compress analogue files into a digital format and decode and decompress them back to analogue (for viewing/listening). Just do a google on mac codecs and you should find plenty.

If you actually look at the message you're getting though, you'll find that the media player does not support the codec - so contrary to the above it's most likely your version of media player which needs upgrading to a version which does support this codec - not a new codec that's required .

Bear in mind some videos are just encoded badly or use an obscure codec which requires you to sign up to a site (porn vids etc.) to be able to use it.

Try getting the latest version of Media Player.

Oops, forgot about the mac thing. Maybe not my link, but the same information applies.

If you upgrade to the latest version of Windows Media Player, it should automatically download almost any codecs you're using, unless they're really obscure.

Wanna link us to the video?

lol, they let you run windows media player on mac.. hahahaha

which, on a similar note, cant you use quicktime?
