hit 150 mph

not a kill but it was still fun. on the way to the lake tuesday night i decided to see how fast the 328 would go. it easily went to a little over 240 kph which i think is about 150 mph. i am sure i could have taken it to over 250 but i did not want to hold the rpm's close to redline for a long time just to get a couple extra kmh. maybe next time i will try to get the last 300rpms and go all the way to 7000. according to diffs online i should be able to do 160mph at 7000rpm's :drive2

Wow that's amazing! :drive2 Must have been seriously impressive -- how was the wind noise? :spin

B_w. 06-25-2005 12:12 PM

it was pretty noisy but the car still felt very stable :redspotda

DEATH2000 06-25-2005 01:27 PM

lol careful w/ redlining for a long time...im always worried about that... just my opinion

B_w. 06-27-2005 10:39 PM

^^^^
that is why i did not just keep going until 7000rpms.

DEATH2000 06-27-2005 10:42 PM

i had mine up 210kmh just before the Bimmerfest cruise, stable as hell, absolutley no wind noise till i opened the sunroof (yea still dunno why i did)

B_w. 06-27-2005 10:55 PM

i had my spare tire on for the cruise. i got a flat just after reaching calgary. i do not think it was balanced so i did not go too fast. did you get some good pics?

I remember Kevin325i on werkz forums, had a pic of him topping out his car, and the temp gauge was allllllll the way to the right..haha

Whats lame is..My car..barely does 130, i can get it threre(speedo only says) and it takes FOREVER!!!

150 is definitely fun. Imagine 155 in a top down s4 at speed limiter...for 10 miles :)

Glad you enjoyed yourself.

LandoAWD 06-28-2005 04:20 PM

I've been to 145 and some black space at the end of my speedo (150-160is) for about a mile in the old car.

Never again.

does 150 feel that much faster than say 120/125?
