Fog light options please!

One of my fog lights kinda fell off and crack, and I have it ghetto taped right now and its fine, but maybe its time.... I have some nice HID regular lights, which are like brighter than my hi-beams, lol, but I would like some fogs to compliment them... my choices?

1. Standard HID fogs, OEM style or aftermarket, $40-$60 I think from like DDM

2. Or what I really like, are the 8 LED daytime/switched lights that fit in the fog hole, but are these bright enough to make a difference at night? Or are they all looks only? Like this:

Or anything else u guys have that might be cool, but I do not want to spend over $70 or so for the kit since I am also paying to get them installed, thanks!!!

Motorexpress

Have you place the branded on with the same company and of the same power if not please do it and then you should check, by directing them to the same direction.

I am looking for a conversion kit to put hid bulbs into the fog lights, and also trying to find green hids, I've seen people with them driving around but i am not sure if its just 3000k (yellow) with a blue film over the lense, or if its just the bulbs color

What part of that were you unable to understand? He was asking what fog lights were a better option for his vehicle. What "more stuff" do you want?

LEDs really look cool these days. you should go for it LEDS

DEATH2000 03-06-2012 08:53 AM

No they do not. Do NOT get LEDs in frog lights or headlights. The light output and beam pattern is terrible. You will waste your money and be more dangerous on the road.

The poster above is just trying to sell junk.

At one time I believe "Fog" lights were yellow as the white lights reflected too much light back into the drives eyes. Has this changed?

DEATH2000 03-14-2012 09:35 AM

Depends on what country you were from. Yellow lights are commonly known as "French fogs" as they were mandatory in France for many years. The yellow color spectrum is the easiest for the human eye too see with the least strain. This is around 4300k. Guys that think blue tinted lighting is cool are dumb, uneducated, and flat out dangerous. Blue is the lowest wavelength on the color spectrum and as such the LEAST amount of visible light. The lumen output is significantly decreased as any blue filters filter out all the good color/light.

Many people still choose yellow Fogs for this reason. They look different as their not very well used anymore. Check out:

I know, or believe, that yellow glasses are good of shooting as it brings out more definition of objects. I did have yellow fog lights on my older cars. I have used yellow glasses while driving in fog and found them to be good.

They Definitley are beneficial if you can get past the looks. I rather have HID fogs, but yellow fogs are much cheaper.

sochermit 03-14-2012 10:21 AM

Are the "HID" fogs "High Definition"? The only thing I can go on is the stats for the car and it reads "Halogen free-form front fog lights".

Thank you for your comments.
