anyone remember the Lincoln LS V8 to BMW 540i comparison commercial [by lincoln of course]
comparing a high end 4 door passanger car [by Lincoln] to a mid range 4 door passanger car [by BMW]
quality wise=BMW
affordability wise=Lincoln

also that one Jeep commercial compared to those 3 non SUV AWD cars. Jeep, congartulations, that AWD vehicle is: 1)V8 2)SUV. compared to 3 cars that are: 1)passanger vehicles 2)V6/I6. also, the only benefit is the V8 and it having greater clearence to off road, while those 3 cars are most likely used as not-so-beefy winter cars

Well why else would everyone be making comparisons based on them?
People aren't going to be impressed if an Ion can outrun an SLK230...so can a Corolla.

It's pretty flattering that they go to all the trouble to find which cars they can actually compare to just so they can advertise against a BMW.

As for the commercials, let it go ya'll. What it is a CRAAAAZY concept called "marketing". I know it sounds wierd, but that is what it is.

FWIW, the Saturn SUV "Redline" is 3rd quickest of all production SUVs. Not bad for a plastic car, but I'll take my gas-hog tank any day of the week. 0-60 in 10.3 bitches!

Last night I saw the 325i in a commercial racing a Jeep Cherokee and losing so that the Jeep looks better....the commercial was so fake...I mean if you're gonna show me a sleek aerodynamic, well balance and handled E46 car against a lumbering, sloppy, bouncy, boxy jeep and tell us than the Jeep out performs the BMW for speed alone...then I'll tell you to show me a video of hell freezing over....

the jeep and the 325xi, i was like "WTF" , because its also the lowest and slowest 3, im sure the 323i coupe is faster, and whats even greater, is they were like "it even beats the 325xi in a striaght line" or something, the xi would own it on the track no doubt.

i just thought it was retarded how they did that, and ofcourse they make BMW all outstanding(not good, i mean how they prnounced it) and just try to make it seem morelike "our jeep is faster then BMW's cars", its just rediculous..

Ha, and some poor soul will go out, buy one of those jeeps.... and driving it home from the dealership, he'll see a nice M3 or something, think he's all badass and in the bmw league, try to keep up with it on some twisties, and crash into a tree and die.
