Dodge Neon. . . . ftw?????

My buddy was saying the other day the the new neon srt is the best bang for the buck out on the market (he's a die hard Japanese man). I was sceptical at first, but after reading up. . . he may be right.

Read for yourselves.

It clearly owns bang for the buck. I'd like to try it for road feel and handling :shades

brien4787 06-06-2006 10:08 PM

I don't care how fast it is.... I would never buy one.

celsdogg 06-06-2006 10:12 PM

me either. neon is one of those vehicles that ppl buy to rice out. the srt is dodges way to cash in on it. . .

94bmw325i 06-06-2006 10:13 PM

those cars haul, not sure about traction issues though with them being FWD.

xsperf 06-06-2006 10:46 PM

exactly, im sure they are fast, but the are FWD, and i would still rather have a nice BMW, because with BMW your buying a lot more than speed(if you are buying speed)

Bimmer_5er 06-06-2006 10:56 PM

I used to work at the Dodge dealship and i got to take a couple for a rip on the hightway. One of them was the stage 3 version( cant remeber exact HP) and that thing hauled ass!! Now handling is a different story, typical domestic suspension, not tight at all.

But in a straight line, wow they are quick and they sound pretty mean too with the exhaust upgrade and a blowoff valve

BMWLotAttendant 06-06-2006 11:41 PM

Reminds me of the

2006 Cobalt Coupe SS Supercharged
2.0L Supercharged DOHC ECOTEC four-cylinder with 205 hp.

Eh', not my cup of tea.

I'd rather have the GT or the GTO.

Numark318i 06-06-2006 11:45 PM

sorry..but if u sit in one..you will realize its not a BMW and its cheap. Obviously its not, but i personally dont buy a car JUST because its fast.

94bmw325i 06-06-2006 11:47 PM

I was reading in a magazine when they came out that they actually handled alright not too much understeer for stock.. Guess not then haha

RSF5 06-06-2006 11:49 PM

Still a damn dodge neon. At the end of the day, still a dodge neon.

Numark318i 06-06-2006 11:57 PM

ok i just read the article. To sum it up its a, lightweight aluminum can with "tight" suspension, cheap interior, some ricey add-ons and a very powerful engine.

CAPiTUL 06-07-2006 12:17 AM

20,000 new, 13 second stock car. It is an entry level car. ever seen an entry level car (not just an entry level model, but an entry level car, period) have a nice plush interior? no. In that price range, they are all crappy.

BTW, I'd rather have my bimmer, too.

Yatti 06-07-2006 12:28 AM

Bmw!

Dudesky 06-07-2006 05:48 AM

I remember when Neons were first introduced, there was a lot of hype about them being sleepers. Used to hate those "Hi" commercials :angry Yea, it's still just a Neon . . speed isn't everything, unless your name is Edwin :p
