Dodge Charger

Well, I dropped the Bim off at the auto body shop this morning to have the damage repaired and I got a 2006 Dodge Charger with 1900 miles on it for a rental.

My review of the car so far can be summed up in 3 words.

Piece.
Of.
Shit.

Wow...here I was thinking this was going to be a fairly decent rental for a few days, but it sucks! It has ZERO power, it's uncomfortable and I feel like I'm riding in a shoebox.

I'm ready for my car back now.

Saw a bunch of the 06 "MOPARs" at the auto show gig and they are alot of show but lack of go. It's all the "eye appeal". I wasn't really imoressed by the newer hemi either. It's bogged down with alot of emissions and bolt on "luxo" hp robbing gear. I'll take my 485cu anyday, then stuff a huffer on it just for a laugh.

Yea, it's a shame, but you just can't equate it to the old days :(

what engine did it have, the 3.5? cause if your saying it didnt have enough power and didnt get atleast the hemi, then your just... well its like thinking a 318i is supposed to perform like an m3

It has to have the 6 cylinder in it...it's pathetic.

i've driven one with a hemi and they by no means have a lack of power. but really who would be stupid enough to give ANYBODY a sporty car witha v8 as a rental, thats asking for that rental insurance to be abused

Unless it's a viper (or maybe a challenger), Dodge is worthless.

I don't know about that Harry - that new little Caliber would make a nice little "commuter". Nothing special, but for 13k new - I could see using it to chase down parts and as a daily driver in traffic IMO

:lmao

True...however, I think anyone that can afford the rental rate probably wouldn't beat the hell out of it too bad. OK, maybe not.

You haven't seen me in a rental car..:cool I think I'm on a couple of rental car "most unwanted lists" Lets see - #1)no reverse when returned, #2) 3 out of 4 wheels bent, #3) A crown Vic with busted right rear spring,.....I've had a couple that have had more air-time than Michael Jordan

Thats thing?

I personally don't like the design very much at all. It's a mini-x3 that's trying to be a car rather than an suv, with a truck front end.

c1apton 04-05-2006 09:44 AM

Yea, that pic doesn't do it justice. (as much can be done for a chrysler product lol) One of our "runners" had one just a "plain Jane" and it is basically a mini-Durango and we had it packed w/crap & people and it drove fairly well loaded down.

OK C1apton...so you're the exception to the rule!! :laugh

Good news is, the body shop called and it's ready 2 days earlier than expected!! W00T!! I can't wait to get my car back!!

wouldn't you get charged for all those damages clapton?

I remember a story that my dad told me funny stuff.

Back when we still lived in Britain and he was in college he went to a local garage and rented a car that they would take to watch WRC races. They followed the whole tour of Britain part, so they would go through forests and shit to get the best viewing spot. Well this car got completely fucked up, and at the end it turned out that it was a customers car getting a tune up, and they left it there for a week hahahahaha
