Yea there was a thread about the new Miuria coming out (sorry cant get link).
But the Miuria (sp?) was one of there best selling cars during that period. Regarded as a true classic by collecors and fans alike. But i dunno how the new one will do compared to the Gallardo. |
you do not make fun of lamborghini in the presence of chuck norris

In my opinion, there are certain nameplates you don't resurrect out of respect. The miura is one of those. VW is trying to capitalize on the Lamborghini nameplate, and I'm afraid the company may suffer as a result. The last thing they need is to tarnish the sacred Miura badge with a half-assed car.

agreed. Sometimes you just can't do it better. I think the remade car is good looking, but those wheels, headlights, and a few other peices would have to go. |
I will say that it does look good. Still, I just never saw Lambo as one to cash in on the recent retro-future craze. as for the headlights, those are a definite cue from the previous Miura, though they are missing the trademark "eyelashes".

Somehow it reminds me of older Corvettes. Has similar lines.

I liked it in harrry's thread, i like it in this thread. The one thing they have going for them is the fact that the original had such a huge following, so long as they kept to the similar body style as the original, no problem. Same thing Dodge is doing with the new challenger. Keep to the original styling cues, with slight modifications, and you got yourself a winner.
