Sales of the Mustang are up 47 percent through the end of May over what they were last year before the redesign. The redesigned car is selling better than Chrysler's popular 300 sedan. It also is outselling 13 brands, including Scion, Saturn, Mercedes-Benz and Subaru.
Quote:
"Demand for the 2005 model has already been filled from a production standpoint," says Jim Owens, marketing manager for Mustang. "We haven't seen anything like this for Mustang in recent history."
The Mustang buzz is so hot, in fact, it's even helping boost the price of used 2003 and 2004 models from before the redesign. Kelley Blue Book says used values have been up as much as $1,000 at auction as dealers scramble to have something on their lots to offer customers if they can't provide a new model.
Looks like the new stangs are catching on, haha. 47% increase in sales... wow.
Bringing back the classic design was the best thing Ford could have done. But I get the impression that the younger crowd doesn't see what the hype is all about. I see mostly older guys driving them around, guys who grew up during the era of the original 'stangs . . . which supports my theory that sales are being driven by a mid-life crisis

I think the new stang looks great. I love the design and how it looks classic, like mustangs should look. It is the only ford car that I would want anything to do with at the moment, granted I do not plan on buying one at any time. And the markup for the last body style of mustang, thats just dumb, those things are all over the place and I hate them, some people are pretty dumb i guess.
