update on the triumph
for those few of you who may be interested. i got back to work on the triumph last week. did some body work, but the fun part was gutting the interior
bad driverside floor pan. not looking forward to that
ok so heres the seatbelt mounting points 3 per seat. ( 6 in total)
6 point 11/16ths bolts ( about 17mm) slightly over an inch long, and covered in the worlds most bad ass thread locker.
check out what i had to use to get them out
yup. a shit load of PB blaster ( anyone who has used it knows it kicks WD-40's ass then has sex with its mother) both sides of the bolt ( other side is exposed under the car, and in the wheel well) multiple applications, over several days
a 6 point socket (11/16ths)
a 3/8 breaker bar
and a 28inch length of pipe
the dollars there for scale, the bolt is also next to the dollar. still took almost all my body wieght. but anyway
some of the few spots of remaining good quility original paint BRG (british racing green for those of you who dont know.)
and, just for the hell of it, the other little part of england at my house
and to keep in tradition of all my other pic threads heres the shiv of the day 8 1/2" total length. 4 1/2" blade

Most if not all of the electrical parts in English cars of that era are manufactured by Lucas, not just the lights to the Prince!
Do you know why the British drink Warm Beer? The refrigerators are all made by LUCAS
That said, I may go hunt for a TR3 as a project.

my dad's first car was a chocolate brown '76 spitfire. on the way home from the dealer (brand new) the fan cut a hose and the car broke down right then and there. three cheers for british engineering. ironically, the electrics were the one thing he never had to fix.

The only electrics with a worse reputation were Magnetti Marelli on the Italian cars.
Lucas couldn't stand the competition and bought them out
