^^^ Because there are other cars out there. I love my BMW, but I'll still talk about other cars. In fact, I kind of want a 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt.

And Rooz, where can I find the Shelby?

^Hertz rental they have a fleet of them, I think on their website they tell you if a location has them, also I have heard rumors that Ford will release a similar version at some point in the future.

MTP3, its a car forum we can talk about all kinds of cars, Have I told you about my new Mazda, the Mazdaspeed3? :grin

Most hertz airport locations have them along with a bunch of other decent cars that you can pay more for.

agreed. I own 5 cars from three different makes, each one has it's merits that the others cannot touch.

My dad rented a Jeep Commander for his last trip. Surprisingly good fit and finish. I would put the interior quality at or above the present lincoln navigator. Nice power in the v8 model, but there's absolutely no road feel at all. I had to open the window to make sure I was actually moving.

and the Commander got some of the worst brakes I've ever seen on a car sold in Europe. I know, back in Michigan our 2005 Explorer's brakes sucked, too, so I don't know how bad the Jeep's brakes are by amreican Standarts, but I find it outrageous that a car made by Daimler-Chrysler and which is so expensive has a 60 foot longer brake distance than the S-Class, down from about 80 mph. That's one company (at least it was) so why didn't they put the S-Class brakes in the Commander?

you're comparing a sport utility to what is essentially a luxury super car with multi-piston calipers all around along with drilled rotors. my father's old S500 (w220) had very impressive handling, acceleration and stopping capabilities. remember, these are german engineered cars for german roads...jeeps are made to navigate the walmart parking lot.

still it is inacceptable that a car costing twice as much as a C-Class Mercedes takes about 60 more feet to break. If it weighs too much, how about trying to lose some weight?

my pickup's sticker is $48,000 and $51,000 out the door. most cars on the road can stop better then it. you're comparing apples to oranges.

*actually, it's brakes are pretty damn good but you get the idea.

Jeeps are made to break down on the side of the road, don't buy them! At least that was my experience with the jeep I drove for a few years.

so i drove a 2007 350Z today. Friend just bought one. also drove a 2001 Z3 2.5l.

350z pulled like an animal, fast. handled good. like amanda said its a track car. No traction control either.

Z3...fast and fun to drive. Liked it more then the 350 actually. Just needs a lighter flywheel and a short throw.
