How picky are cops about tint?
Hey again. i scheduled an appointment for a tint job on the 16th. 35% is the legal limit here in WA, OR, and ID. those would be the only places i would go...so, people who live in the northwest and have tint, what % do you have, and have cops ever been dicks about it? for example, pulling you over for the hell of it or even giving you a ticket. let me know, and if you have any pics of 35% that would be sweet. I was looking at roozs thread, and he has 20%and thats pretty dark. later

usually wat they will do is, they wont pull you over for your tint, however if you are speeding and they happen to pull you over, they will give u a speeding ticket and trouble about ur tint(i dunno watst hat called, fix-it ticket?)

As far as I know tint is a secondary offence, they can't pull you over for it, unless if they are AMAZINGLY anal. And I know you said my 20 seems a tad bit dark, and 35 on your car will look just as dark (being that it's a coupe and has dark interior). And I HAD 35 before it's just after a while the sun started bugging me on the inside.
And lastly, keep in mind that no matter how good of a tint you get done it will still fade a slight bit. My 35% was perfect at first, but after it faded slightly, I wanted darker, hence my move to 20%

I bought my car with 5% tint all around--i havent had a chance to get it changed yet, and havent had a problem with the cops yet. It's only because I've been kind of lucky lately.

damn! 5% all around?! that's DARK. Where did you hear the legal limit was 35%? Cause I got mine done at a shop around january and as of then the shop said the legal limit was 20% on the back and rear sides, and 30% on the front sides... Cause I wanted to go darker than that but they said they wouldn't go more than what is legal... maybe i just got lucky

I run with 20% on most of my cars and NEVER have any problems. If you drove a honda, it would be a problem.
