Olympic Peninsula Drive, June 10th
This a Puget Sound Club sponsored event. They are very strict with the way people drive.
On June 10th, we are planning a Club Tour to the Olympic Peninsula. We will take the Edmonds Ferry, and depart from Kingston, seeking out one of Washington's 8 Scenic Byways. Highway 112, also known as The Juan de Fuca Highway, is lined by jagged cliffs and the magnificent cedar forests of Olympic National Park. The highway offers peek-a-boo views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Canada’s Vancouver Island. It's also twisty, deserted, and lined with nice smooth pavement. It travels through a couple of very small towns, one of which is Pysht. I've always wanted to be able to say I've been there.
Weather permitting, we'll have a picnic lunch on the shores of Crescent Lake, then return via your choice of three routes. For those not bothered by the possibility of waiting in Ferry lines, return via Ferry. The second route would be Hwy 16 to Tacoma, and around. For the more hardy, down 101, along the shores of Hood Canal, to Gig Harbor, and around.
Plan on arriving early enough to board the 8:40 Ferry leaving Edmonds. I would expect it to be rather crowded on a Saturday morning. We'll gather at the Thriftway in Kingston, on your right just after getting off the Ferry. After a short drivers meeting, we'll leave at 9:30. Your return time would depend on the route you choose home, mid to late afternoon for most.
Bring camera's, binoculars, FRS radios, and a sense of adventure!

My girl only lets me participate in 1 car event per weekend and that would be the e30 picnic. I would love to do both though.
