Anyone going to this? I am serious thinking about going since I missed the spokane meet last week. Although, some poor VW went off the side of the road. JRhaile, what happened with the VW? Was the driver okay?

Devo, are you going?

last count was 40+ cars from Portland and Seattle. This does not include the Spokane peeps. The VW driver was fine and there really wasn't much damage from what I heard. It's drivable so.... As far as what happened, he went into a corner too fast in a FWD car that is what happened lol

i may go but the car is definitely not... james i apologize, i've been tryin to get you details on the car to see if you are interested but longs tory short i got into a wreck in the front end and will be selling the car off, but i want to see it go to someone who would make a good project. a hood bumper and some misc engine pieces and this thing should be ready for a big snail and serious whp. i'll try toget you an email with pics tonight so you can see it. i know you were wanting to buy it earlier and now the price may be right for you...

back on topic...
i actually just figured out i have to work on that day so i won't be able to make it. somewhat disappointing but i think it may make me miss the car more anyways. just cruising the forums has made me sad

hope you guys have fun. if you let me know about drives 2 weeks prior i can get work off and would love to come photograph in someone else's ride/

No I'm N/A right now in my E36 but making about 220rwhp and 200ft-lbs. Making plans to turbo my E36 this summer/fall. And my E30 is putting down 280-290rwhp and over 300ft-lbs

What mods do you have on your e30. That is a ton of HP for such a light car. It must hall ass. I saw your vid, it was sweet.

How many miles have you put on the turbo? What turbo? Is your e30 your DD? Do you have an e36 M3?

I have a ton of questions. Once I have my suspension sorted out, I have contemplated F/I and I am in the process of doing my homework.

Mods for my E30 = Rebuild engine with turbo cam, port and polish head, custom tuned dinan tubro running 9-11psi with a 2.93 diff lsd, 3" downpipe, full 3" exhaust system... soon custom intake system to let the turbo breath better too, maybe more efficient turbo (gt30r ) and custom tuning again.

The turbo system itself was tuned and built by Steve Dinan himself in Nov of 1991. The car has a total of 149500 miles on it as we speak. The motor/engine lasted 140k before the headgasket went. Everything was rebuilt and or replaced at that point including trans and diff.

Yes the e30 is my DD now and has been for about 2 months.

I do not have an E36 M3. I have a 325i with a M52 2.8l OBD1 converted car with S52 cams, AA Tuning, 3.5" HFM, 3.5" elbow, 3.5" intake, stromung exhaust, custom midsection, fan delete, UUC UDP, port and polished head job and more.

Hey JR,

Do you do most of the mods yourself or do you have a shop that does them for you? Did you tune your e30 or a shop?

How come you decided on a turbo for your e30 instead of a S/C? Was a S/C even available? I am assuming you modded an e30 325i.

The Dinan S/C for my car runs about $10K, give or take and the LSD for my car from Dinan is $6000. If I go F/I, I should have just bought an M5. We shall see what the fiance, soon to be wife, allows me to spend our money on .

Thanks for the info!

So I went to take pics before the people left. I will upload those sometime this weekend. I get a call from my buddy who went on the drive and a young lady trying to pass some cars got into a head-on collision. She was okay, but her passenger was unlucky. Her passenger broke her femur and was stuck in the car. The firewall collapsed and was pinning her leg. The other driver had a broken hip and broken femur. They most likely had to be transported to Seattle via a helicopter. Pretty crazy. Her bimmer was probable totaled. She was driving a 328i I guess.

Dinan did all of my mods back in '91 built and tuned by Steve Dinan himself.

That is awesome JR. That is unbelievable that Steve Dinan tuned your car. Did you buy it new in 91? I missed you at the drive today. I took pics. Rebecca, my smarter half, kept telling me not to go on the drive and she had a bad feeling. I listened and headed home, but I wanted to see your car.

No didn't buy it new in '91. I'm the 3rd owner now. And it's too bad about what happened, but if you check DTM, you'll see that she's okay and is at the movies tonight. The others are going to be in the hospital for a little while recovering
