It had quad pipes, only way for it to have 2 cats and 2 mufflers is if he had the spare tire removed, which I thought about and decided against, too much money and modification to get it to work correctly.

ya, i agree. Plus you can still make it sound mean as hell without, and you are going to be really pissed on that day you don't have your spare. unless you have a AAA card.

i don't know for sure but i don't think he modified the spare tire... it'd be worth asking him though sounded bad ass and flowmaster is way cheaper than some ofthe performance exhausts for bmw

I talked to him and the shop on the east side, (east side muffler I think) did the work. They modified a little to get it to work.

It still only has one cat, muffler, etc. If you look at the underside of an E39 M5, everything with the exhaust is in pairs. I did a lot of research into Tubi exhausts before I realized for a 540, it won't work without major mods from the engine all the back.

ya its the same on the 535, true dual all the way back side by side, its nice cause its free flowing, but its a pain in the ass to make custom with so little space and no on who makes dual in dual out mufflers for a decent price...
