New Years Eve

Any ideas for New Years? A party somewhere? I had ideas of going to Vancouver and getting a hotel room downtown. I know it is early but it would be easier to plan sooner than later.

i'm done in two weeks this week is dead week and i think i'm out on thurs of finals week. How's the car runnin?? did you get that tranny issue figured out yet?

on a random side note i just went home for thxgiving and found out my uncle has a 200 calypso red 540/6 speed. i remembered it being a 525 for some reason but went out to look at it during appetizers and saw the badge and just about shat myself. I started talkin to him about maybe goin on some cruises but it would most likely be with the CCA crowd cause he's kind of an older guy. haha

haven't taken it for a spin yet but i'm pretty excited to see how it compares to the 535. Also drove a stock 04 WRX this weekend and it felt much slower than my car so that made me feel pretty good.

Hey Devo,

Your uncle's ride sounds sweet. As for my tranny, I am saving money when the time is right. My car drives fine, it is starting to grind when I shift into 2nd and 4th. I drive sedately. I haven't shopped around too much for the tranny. Basically, I will have to buy it through a dealership. I figured that I could get some guys to help me install it when I need to do it. The golden question is when will the tranny fail. I hope it will last until next fall, after the wedding and honeymoon, so that finances won't be an issue.

The other idea I have is not sinking the money into the 540i, buying an E39 M5 and transferring all of my after market parts from the 540 to the M5. Only time will tell.

Good luck with school and hit me up when you are back in town. We can do another photo shoot with some guys or go out for dinner.

I am still planning to go to Vancouver for New Years.

Hey Devo,

I love the 540i, but..... $4000 for the Tranny with a CCA discount. You can't even rebuild the Tranny because Getrag doesn't manufacter the parts. Buying a used Tranny with shipping is $2400 and you don't have a history of the tranny. The question is what year M5 to search for next year, maybe a 2002 or 2003. It could be a pipe dream. Anyway. When you are back in town, we will hard wire the V1 and the hidden display. I'll bring the beer .

Talk to you soon.

Hey Devin,

I know what you mean. That car is hawt and if I put my lights, clears, HID fogs, acs splitters race mesh, etc. It would be so sick. Tint the windows. Anyway, I can't believe the price. It is bad when you have too much time to peruse the internet .

I want votes on M5 colors. I have always liked black, but the Imola red is sick. I also like the sport, two tone colored seats .

Do you guys think the prices will come down further a year from now because the new M5 will become more available?

Devin, of course I would let you drive it

The red & black are both sick. As far as the price going down? Nahhh I don't think so, especially w/the intro of the new E63. This one will blow your mind I'll see if I can get some pics. The enclosed aren't the best but the "new improved" will make you nutts

Besides, what's the matter w/yours? That's a pretty rad ride in itself. You'ld end up doing all those mods all over again.
