Favorite Roads to Drive
Alright I was driving North from US 70 on Marriottsville Rd in Howard County MD.
Just as I was getting to the best section of the Rd, the last car turned off and got out of my way. The windows were rolled down, the Sunroof was open, and my wife was right beside me.
Now I drive a '06 BMW 330 6SP ZHP SG on Black. I started with a little acceleration just to test the waters(Does she want to have fun today).
I got the response I wanted, a small smile begin to appear. I knew it was time to let this road have it.
Let me tell you, this car can handle. As we took the turns with ever increasing speeds my wife was alternating between terror and glee.
So now my question, Does anyone else have a road that they just LOVE to drive.

Yeah, the Kangamangus (SP?) Highway up in the White Mountains. Not sure if you've ever been up this far, but if you have....you'll know what I mean. And on the way I-89 has many straightaways with limited room for cops to hide. Hit 135mph my last time on 89.

Well hey, hey Mr. Policeman

Come on Hoss, let's have some fun
Go on shoot me with your radar gun
You look bored and I sure am
Catch me if you can.

Come on Hoppy, you can do better than that. There has to be one Road that really shines.
Or do you just spend all your time on 495 and 128?

Just got back from the Catskills in upstate NY. Rte. 214 by Phoenecia and Hunter Mountain. Nice twists and turns, up and down hill, single lane in each direction. The most I could do was 65mph, because you gotta watch for cops, bears, and deer. But it's a great ride with a couple of sections where you can get some airtime

My dad lives out in the country in southeast Pennsylvania, I love to drive to his house, once you get off the main road, it's all twists and turns...

The shore road between York Beach and Ogunquit in Maine is like a roller coaster, but tight. I had the idea of closing the road and running something like time trials, ala Pikes Peak. You pay a fee which could be donated to charity. Too much liabilty though, I'll have to just do it the free way! Rt. 89 in Ct. is a nice ride especially between 84 and 44. Nice varied terrain, straights, sweepers, scenery etc, and the road is in good condition and the shoulders wide. You can easily see other cars, deer kids cops etc.
