now they dont care at all..i mean i told them about my 132mph stunt in the 330, they werent happy about that...but other then that i can cruise at what ever speed i want with them in the car.
ha, my mom can beat that, shes never gone more than 65mph.
Ive warned her to stay off the Deerfoot (3 lane highway cutting thru Calgary) cause she would be more of a danger to people going 80kmh then i would ripping around at 130kmh.
good luck getting a test drive. when i was looking for a car a couple of years ago nobody was allowed to test any m car without first paying a deposit. i was looking at 97-98 m3s worth a fraction of a new m5. it was no issue taking out non m cars but that deposit policy is in place to prevent people from doing what you want to do. i hope you can do it but dont be too dissapointed if they say no.

I just took possesion of my 2006 M5 and I doubt that they will let you test drive it so take my word for it when I say you will never experience anything like it! If you can afford the $$ it is the "Ultimate Driving Machine"!

Congratulations on your purchase. Good choice, haha, do you have any pics?

The best way to test drive very expensive cars is to show up dressed nicely (a suit for instance) and driving an already expensive car.
For instance, I am sure I could test drive an M5 if I drove up in my Audi S4 (which is in pristine condition) and wearing a suit, and I bet I could do it without a deposit. I was not required to put a deposit on my S4 test drives (all 3 of them) and while I don't have much experience at BMW dealerships, I doubt they would balk.
...thats what im thinking. Still havent set a date for it cause the M5s are only at the dealships for like a day and they sell them...its crazy.

You make it sound like you're going to church. Just go w/Mom in normal clothes. (Your Mom can use this as a barometer If these are people she wants to deal with) If they judge you by what you "appear" then screw them. I work with TONS of folks - long hair, blue jeans, tats - if sales"person" shuns them he finds another. If the others do too, (one guy I worked with/for) walked into GMs office and told him that he had $90k cash burning holes in his pockets and sales people don't seem to want to sell him a car. (This was at a Benz Dealer) Then proceeded to tell entire new car sales dept to go fuck themselves. They just assumed he was some "punk". I wouldn't call Ed Roland a punk (those who don't know - of Collective Soul)
Bottomline, do your test drive in what you normally wear to drive in, if the dealer has a problem with that, you don't need to shop there.

...my parents bought a volvo instead of a 540 back in the early nineties because the bmw dealership wouldnt let them test drive a car in the dark. they went in their crappy work clothes. The bmw dealship called back and asked if we still wanted the test drive(knowing my mom was pssed the night before). She said she bought another car(which she did).
