Would it be worth it to buy an E30 M3 with 160K miles on it or would I be looking at a lot of maintenance or rebuild because I wouldn't be able to afford a rebuild or engine swap. Tell me what you think. Thanks.
well, I was reading bimmer mag the other day, and they were suggesting, that not many E30 m3's were sent over here, and are still in good condish. they said that if you have one, hold on to it, and if you can get one, get it

I think it'd be a good project just to buy one to rebuild.
a buddy of mine has an E30 with over 200k miles and it's still running great. although, an M3 is probably more exposed to some hard driving than his 3. if it's not in really bad shape, 160k miles sounds pretty good until you have the time and money for a rebuild.
everytime I see an E30 M3 driving around I'm just in awe, sweet cars.

Its a sweet car, I would agree with everyone that if you can find one in good condition its probably worth it. I do hear that the maintence gets a little expensive with it though.
if youre committed to a long term investment-thats the way i look at it-then i say yes. a solid car that has been maintained to 160k can potentially have less problems than a lower mileage car with maintainance on the horizon. just know that parts for Ms, and e30s especially, will cost a buttload.
